Fire Protection

The Fire Protection industry requires a unique set of spray requirements with a zero-failure requirement. Spray coverage is first and foremost, while the spray drop size will determine the ration of spray which hits the fuel (larger droplets) to that which chokes the flame (smaller droplets). Additionally, Maximum Free Passage (MFP) nozzles prevent clogging from what may be a dirty water source. Typical analyses include:

  • Multi-nozzle overlap analysis and coverage uniformity
  • Drop size distribution and flow rate evaluation/optimization
  • Spray material evaluation for materials other than water
